This painting is part of Maser's recent series 'Taxonomy' a body of work inspired by his interest in scientific illustrations of organic forms and botanical drawings. The artist's passion for botany and plants initially sparked on a personal level as a way to alleviate anxiety and regulate sleep patterns. Its influences soon became intrinsically fused with his artistic practice and are conveyed by these vibrant, graphic pieces, in which hand painted lines are combined with the expressive energy of street art.
Irish born and internationally renowned, Maser is most famous for his colourful large scale murals and immersive public art installations inspired by optical and Memphis art. He has been supporting several social causes throughout his career, most notably the 2016 Repeal the 8th campaign in Ireland. His works has been exhibited in galleries in London, Miami, New York and San Francisco and at the Palays de Tokyo in Paris. Maser collaborated with other establisehd artists such as Conor Harrington, musician Damien Dempsey and Oscar winner JR.
